What should be kept in mind when operating a hot press?

The materials processed by hot press machines are generally insulators—such as wood, plastic, rubber, fiberglass, water, and adhesives. High-frequency hot pressing involves placing the material within a high-frequency electric field. Under the influence of this field, the molecules align themselves with the direction of the field. As the high-frequency electric field rapidly and continuously alternates direction, the molecules of the dielectric material rotate or vibrate at high speeds in place; the resulting friction and collisions between particles generate heat, thereby achieving the heating effect.

Today, the team at Rongfa Machinery—a manufacturer of non-woven fabric equipment—would like to share some important points to keep in mind when operating a hot press machine. We hope this information proves helpful to you.

1. High-frequency hot press equipment requires operation by two people using the above-mentioned data, with a designated technical supervisor. Both personnel must wear insulated shoes, gloves, and other prescribed protective equipment.

2. Operators must be familiar with the operating procedures of the high-frequency equipment. Before starting, check that the cooling system is functioning properly, and then turn it on, strictly following the operating procedures.

3. Before starting work, all doors should be closed, and electrical interlock devices should be provided on the doors to ensure that power cannot be supplied before the doors are closed. After shutting off the high voltage, do not move to the back of the machine or open the doors.

4. The high-frequency equipment must be kept clean and dust-free during operation. If any abnormality occurs during operation, the high-voltage power supply must be disconnected first, then the equipment should be inspected and the relevant faults eliminated. High-frequency equipment malfunctions must be repaired by qualified personnel. After opening the equipment, first use a stun gun to discharge live components such as the power grid and capacitors before starting repairs. Never perform repairs while the power is on.
